Auburn Jam Live – New Musicals showcase for charity

Auburn Jam Music production studio and record label are hosting their third annual Auburn Jam Live gig as part of their local MyRaynesPark Festival. This year they are showcasing the work of ten talented new musical theatre composers and songwriters with whom they have produced albums, with performances from current and future West End stars who have recorded at the studio. Proceeds from the show will go to Merton Against Trafficking.

Songwriters performing their own work will be:

Will Barratt (Jersey Boys, Phantom of the Opera, Les Miserables, Sweeney Todd), currently writing for his debut album;

Joe Sterling (Honk at the Tabard Theatre, writer of new musical Roundabout), currently recording his second EP with Auburn Jam Music;

Nadim Naaman (Phantom of the Opera, The Sound of Music, One man Two Guvnors, Chess, Titanic) whose debut album We All Want The Same was released by Auburn Jam Records last year and who has since played two sell-out solo gigs at the Union Theatre and the Pheasantry.

The evening will also feature performances from: Jennifer Hepburn (Les Miserables, Taboo), Michael Storrs (Les Miserables), Suzi Power (Blood Brothers), Shaun McCourt (Joseph and his Technicolored Dreamcoat UK Tour), Michael Riseley (currently rehearsing for Les Miserables), Kate Scott (Honk and Cinderella at the Tabard), Hollie Cassar (Fame at the Gordon Craig Theatre), and Joel Hutchings (soloist for AIDA Entertainment).

They will be performing songs by:

Alexander Bermange, composer of Thirteen Days (Arcola), currently recording his musical The Route To Happiness (performed last year at the Landor) with Auburn Jam Music, starring Louise Dearman, Ben Forster and Kerry Ellis;

Writers of Welsh epic My Land’s Shore Christopher J. Orton (performing credits: TOM, Spamalot, The Hired Man) and lyricist Robert Gould, who will also have songs featured from his recent release Words Shared With Friends.

Caroline Wigmore, composer of Van Winkle – A Folk Musical, whose studio cast album was produced by Auburn Jam Music and released last year on SimG Records.

Singer-songwriter Jonathan Eio (Melchior, Spring Awakening UK Tour), whose album New Beginnings was the first full album recorded and produced by Auburn Jam Music.

The Bakewell Bake-Off, a new musical devised last year by MA students at the Guildford School of Acting. Following successful runs at the Landor and Waterloo East theatres, they subsequently recorded an original cast album at Auburn Jam Music which was released by SimG Records, and the performance rights have recently been acquired by Rodgers & Hammerstein.

Tim Connor, composer of The Stationmaster, recently workshopped at the Royal Academy of Music, and The Heart of Winter, a one-woman song cycle performed at the Leicester Square Theatre in 2009, which Auburn Jam Music will release as a studio album later this year, featuring a soon-to-be-announced West End leading lady.
